Skill ball
These are the balls we use most at Active Kids (see picture) because after a lot of trail and error, we feel they are the perfect size for children. They have a true bounce and are ideal for kicking, catching and passing with hands.
We recommend Nike as they tend to hold their shape longer so worth spending the extra £1 or so.
Easton Trainer Incrediball Cricket ball
This ball is designed for developing cricket bowling skills. It is a great ball for helping children from the age of 8 understand how a ball spins - an important point if children are to reach mature skill levels in ball activities.
Where to get it
Available from any cricket specialist listed on www.gm-cricket.com or try Newitts.
Batting Tee
These have been used in the US for years- a great way to build good technique, and confidence in hitting a ball. Makes family rounders/cricket far more inclusive - stops over competitive dad bowling everyone out! Various shapes are available for different batting games but the ones that are a little higher develop a round-body hitting action as used in tennis, rounders etc and this is really good for 4-6 year olds who tend to perform a low to high hitting action.
Where to get it
Kwik Cricket Batting Tee
Kwik cricket batting Tee. (Same as above but holds the ball lower to the ground to assist in developing the hitting action that is specific for cricket.
